Saturday in the Park: Snakes of Alabama (July 13)

Saturday in the Park is a series of demonstrations and presentations at Moundville Archaeological Park related to Native Americans, archaeology, natural history, sustainable gardening, and more!

On Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 10 am until 2 pm, Dylan Taylor of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System will be giving a talk about the snake diversity of Alabama with a focus on snake conservation, identification, and safety around venomous species. The program will be held inside the Jones Archaeological Museum. Immediately following the snake program, there will be a guided nature hike with Bill Skinner at 2 pm.

Admission

This program is free with paid park admission.

  • Seniors (55-years-old and older) – $7
  • Students – $6
  • Under 5 – Free
  • Moundville Residents – Free
  • Native American visitors – Free with tribal membership card
  • UA Museums members – Free with museum membership

Moundville is located 13 miles south of Tuscaloosa, off Alabama Highway 69 and the physical address is 634 Mound State Parkway, Moundville, AL 35474-6413.
