Rebecca Johnson graduated from The University of Alabama in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications and Film and a focus in Broadcast Television Production. She worked in local news production for WVUA 23 in Tuscaloosa and WVTM 13 in Birmingham before heading to Atlanta, Georgia to work at Turner (now, Warner Bros. Discovery) for fourteen years as a video editor and video encoding specialist.

In 2019, Rebecca joined The University of Alabama Museums as the Communications Specialist for the Alabama Museum of Natural History, the Gorgas House Museum, the Paul W. Bryant Museum, the Warner Transportation Museum, Moundville Archaeological Park, the Office of Archaeological Research, the Department of Museum Research & Collections, and Discovering Alabama.
