Moundville Archaeological Park Has Re-opened

Moundville Archaeological Park has re-opened its Admissions office and Museum! We are excited to be able to share the incredible history and culture of the Moundville site with all of our visitors again.

New check-in procedures, as well as enhanced safety and cleaning protocols, have been implemented to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please be aware of the following when visiting our spectacular archaeological site and fantastic museum:

* All visitors, including the city of Moundville residents with Resident Passes, must check-in at the Admissions office before entering the Park grounds. Moundville residents must also display Resident Passes in vehicles while in the Park.

*Masks are mandatory in all buildings and may be purchased in the Admissions office. All visitors entering the Jones Archaeological Museum, including Moundville residents, must also wear a wristband obtained from the Admissions office.

*Social distancing guidelines are posted throughout the Park. Per the University of Alabama, outdoor groups must be 10 or fewer people. Indoor group size restrictions are posted at all building entrances.

The Park grounds will remain open from dawn to dusk; our Admissions office will open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, and our Museum will open at 9:00 am and close at 5:00 pm, seven days a week (the Park closes for major holidays). The Campground is still closed at this time.
